Boatworld Carbon Pro 365

We are pleased to announce that we are the UK south coast agent for Boatworld’s superb Carbon Pro series boats, freshly updated for 2026. We’ll usually have a 365 on display. The first thing you’ll notice about them is… THEY LOOK FANTASTIC… and perhaps even “like something the SBS would use” as one customer suggested.

We suspect the SBS might not want the red (365) or grey (400) trim, although we rather like it. Completely black might be a bit severe for us civilians! But they would almost certainly appreciate the super-tough carbon-effect fabric (from Heytex in Germany), the rigid-feeling aluminium floorboards, and the near-indestructible moulded GRP transom.

Below the waterline, a tube that inflates underneath the flat floor forces the hull into quite a distinct V-shape, which gives better directional stability and a more comfortable ride in waves. And when you come into land, there are heavy-duty rubber wear strips at the contact points along the centreline and bottom of the tubes.

BIG LITTLE BOATS

For their lengths, the Boatworld Carbon Pro series boats have loads of internal space, huge stability, and great capability out on the water. They are rated Category C – up to Force 6 winds and 2m waves

However please note those are upper limits, not a recommendation for when you should use them! As with any small boat the “limits” are at least as much about the people using the boat, as the boat itself… for example if you’re going out on the sea you must understand the effects of tide and wind, and carry appropriate safety gear.

WHAT MOTORS ARE RECOMMENDED?

The outboard motor market can look highly confusing, but choosing your motor is mostly about you, and what you want to do with your boat.

If your intent is pottering around on lakes and rivers on a nice sunny day – which is all that a lot of people want – then an electric outboard might well be the right choice for you. These have moved on leaps and bounds in the last 20 years (we’ve been selling them since 2007, time flies!) and at the lower end of the market (up to about 4hp) the integrated battery type is now outselling small petrol outboards. ePropulsion are leading the electric market at the moment, our picks would be:

  • ePropulsion Spirit PLUS, 1kW with 1276Wh battery. This will push a Carbon Pro 365 up to about 5 knots flat out for an 1.25hrs or 4 knots for 2.5hrs (so a 10 nautical mile range is easily achievable). MORE INFO HERE
  • ePropulsion Spirit 2, 2kW with 1539Wh battery. More power, more speed, more range, still lightweight easy to use. MORE SPIRIT 2 INFO HERE

If you want to do more than potter, ie reach speeds in the double figures, then in reality we’re still looking at petrol. Simply because the amount of energy stored in one litre of petrol (roughly 1kg) is about the same as 80kg of battery! We really like the Tohatsu petrol outboards. You may not have heard of them but they are actually one of the oldest outboard manufacturers in the world, and still make everything in Japan. They are very good quality and come with a 7 year warranty:

  • the Tohatsu MFS 9.9 is an excellent all-rounder and almost uniquely at this size has EFI (no carb to block!). 38kg.
  • whilst the Tohatsu MFS20 doubles the power for another 6kg or so.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT THAT FLOOR

Internally, the Boatworld Carbon Pro inflatables have a completely flat – and very rigid – aluminium floorboard deck, with an excellent non-slip facing. These give a “big boat feel” that inspires confidence in newcomers, children and the elderly/infirm. You can stand up, move around, and step in/out of these boats in ways that shouldn’t really be possible at this sort of size. That is the up side. Once assembled the Carbon Pro series floors are excellent.

But there is a compromise, there always is with boats! As with all aluminium floorboard boats, the floor is undeniably quite heavy – although it does come in manageable sections. And there is definitely a knack to assembling it. The first time you assemble it you may even get to a point where you decide it’s impossible! Have a cup of tea, or maybe a beer, then come back to it a bit later…

It’s DEFINITELY NOT IMPOSSIBLE and here are our hints:
– first time out of the box inflate the tubes before you do anything else. This will stretch out the hull and is also quite pleasing, because your new boat looks great even without the floor.
– after you’ve finished admiring it let nearly all of the air back out again
– insert the front 3 boards, starting from the front. It is worth spending time at this stage to line the edges up as you go
– next insert board 5 at the back, under the transom blocks
– and now insert board 4 (from the front), with it and board 3 raised up a few inches so that there is room to do so. Once they are connected you can push them down flat which tensions the whole thing together.
– And now add on the side rails, which will be surprisingly easy if you have let enough air out of the tubes and aligned the edges of the boards
– Re-inflate boat and… GO BOATING!
