Boatworld Air-V Inflatable Boats
The Boatworld Air-V inflatable boats combine roll-up portability with great performance on the water.
The twin chamber, high-pressure hulls inflate into a V-shape for a dry, comfortable ride in chop.
We are now the UK south coast agent for the Boatworld range, including the popular Air V inflatable boats featured here. They have many similarities to the well-known Honwave air floor boats – there are only so many ways to crack an egg, as the saying goes! – but with some upgraded features and very competitive pricing.
If you’re not familiar with this type the main thing to know is that these “Air-V inflatable boats” are fully inflatable boats with integral high-pressure inflatable floors. So there is no separate floor or fiddly floorboards to insert, just inflate and go. As such there are very few components to lose or forget – just the oars and the seats (if you use them, which many don’t – and these boats are relatively lightweight.
Below the waterline, and still on the subject of floors, the bottom part is divided into two separate chambers with an angle between them. This creates a V-shape, with greater depth to it at the bow (front), which helps with directional stability and a more comfortable ride if you’re out in waves.
LOTS OF CHOICE
We’d generally split the Boatworld Air-V inflatable boats range into two, with the smaller ones at 2.5m (8ft), 2.7m (9ft) and possibly the 3m (10ft). These models are often bought as tenders to larger vessels, often with electric outboards… but of course can also take petrol engines and also get used for general “messing about in boats!”.
The larger models, with the 3m arguably overlapping into this category, are available at 3.3m (11ft) and 3.8m (nearly 13ft). These have significantly greater carrying capacity and can be used with larger motors – up to 6 adults and 20hp for the 380.
HOW DOES THE FLOOR WORK?
The Boatworld Air-V (or “Air V type” as they are also interchangeably called) inflatables have a double chamber floor, arranged such that when inflated they forms a moderate V shape at the bow. These chambers are integral to the boat, not separate inserts, which makes the inflated hull stiffer… and easier to inflate because you’re not messing about trying to make things line up.
The floor is fitted slightly below the main tubes, which gives more internal height (so your knees aren’t in your face!). It also has the effect of creating two strakes, or chines, beneath the boat, which helps with directional stability.
It’s all made from reassuringly tough material with an additional thick rubber moulding running along the centre line, to withstand beach landings etc.
WHAT’S INCLUDED?
The Boatworld Air-V (Air V type) inflatables are very well made at what most people consider to be surprisingly reasonable prices. Especially when you take into account the high standard specification, which includes:
- oars/rowlocks (they actually row quite well as inflatables go)
- storage bag that’s actually big enough
- eyes for proper towing bridle
- lots of well-placed handles
- Borika mount on bow (for optional accessories such as lights, fishing rod holders, or even a beer can holder!)
- Roller on bow to prevent/reduce chafe if you wish to anchor
- manual pump (we also offer electric ones)
- repair kit

We should warn that it’s very far from being a fancy retail experience… the same premises treble as an often messy workshop and despatch centre! But there are a lot of different boats and outboards on display, with inflatable kayaks – proper ones that you can actually use if there’s a ripple on the water – starting from £299.
